Shaping pain research & care for kids, together
An award winning patient-oriented research team led by Dr. Katie Birnie at the University of Calgary improving the prevention and management of pain experienced by children and their families.

Making an impact...

As a former pediatric patient, it is incredibly empowering to be a part of the spark that has ignited patient engagement in pain research in Canada.
I am grateful to be able to bring to light the disparities in pain care in rural and remote regions of Canada. I am hopeful for the change to come. Working with Dr. Katie Birnie has been an incredible experience. Since our first meeting, she has been nothing but approachable. She goes above and beyond.
